In the innovation journey
ExperimentYou try out ideas quickly with something tangible, such as a sketch or simple demo. That shows what works before you invest.ValidateYou test with real users whether it works, and record that it does what you promise. That evidence convinces critical parties.

What this lab stands for
The VR Lab studies how people perceive, move and learn in virtual and mixed reality. With headsets, body sensors, full-body tracking and a cockpit for driving and flight simulation.
A virtual environment is an experiment you fully control that still feels real. This lab uses that to study behaviour, experience and learning. There are standalone and tethered headsets, some with eye and hand tracking.
Sensors measure heart rate, skin conductance and facial muscles. Six cameras track the whole body, and haptic gloves let you feel what you grab. A cockpit and a harness for walking training complete the setup. The team also builds its own simulations and data pipelines.
What we are setting up for BRIX
What Tilburg University · VR Lab is building as part of the CIIIC programme.
Tilburg University is renewing the VR Lab in MindLabs, one of its four research labs for BRIX. Outdated equipment is replaced, and support for instruction and access is added. Through BRIX, you can commission research into how people behave in a virtual environment, carried out by specialised researchers.
