What this lab stands for
MindLabs is where knowledge institutions, companies and makers meet. An IX prototyping lab, combined with a steady stream of students from vocational colleges, universities of applied sciences and research universities, working on real-world problems in multidisciplinary teams.
Applied innovation for lasting impact. MindLabs is known for interactive virtual humans in serious roles: how do you communicate well with people when you are a system?
This comes with expertise in the ethical, legal and societal aspects of technology — whether something may and should be done, not just whether it can. Anyone who comes in with an idea can move on to a team, to a prototype, and to a launching customer.
What we are setting up for BRIX
What MindLabs is building as part of the CIIIC programme.
MindLabs is building a new IX prototyping lab in Tilburg. Ten workstations for teams of vocational, applied and university talent, who work with businesses and IX makers for six months. A heavy compute facility for training virtual humans with local AI. An ideation room for workshops and vibe-coding training, and an open stage for BRIX and CIIIC events.
