The question
A museum wants to use IX to let visitors operate inventions from the past. That takes simulators: hardware, software, industrial design and experimentation. What is affordable and easy to make? And how do you quickly explore a range of options, before final production goes to a company?
The approach
Together with museum staff and curators, real-world situations were turned into simulation scenarios and built in a BRIX lab. The simulator runs on the permanent lab set-up and on site at the client, so participants do not have to travel. Each session records the sequence of actions: the instructor sees where things go wrong, and the scenario is adjusted accordingly. After a year there are simulators that actually run, based on the validated prototypes.
The result
- Simulator prototypes, tested with users.
- Game concepts in VR.
- A feasibility study for the actual build.
- Input for the tendering and pricing process.
