What this lab stands for
The TU/e Mixed Reality Lab has worked with private partners on immersive prototyping, testing and validation for twenty years. With an IX cave and motion sensing, among other things, you study here how the physical and the virtual meet in the same space, and what that does to people.
Twenty years of experience in bringing the physical and the virtual together. This lab is built on prototyping, testing and validating with industry partners, and on scientific research into what then really happens.
The IX cave and motion sensing make it measurable what people do when the two worlds merge. You come here with a question you cannot yet answer, and you leave with evidence instead of a hunch.
What we are setting up for BRIX
What TU/e · Mixed Reality Lab is building as part of the CIIIC programme.
The Mixed Reality Lab at TU/e is getting a cave in its existing lab. Three 4K laser projectors, motion tracking and soft walls make physical play inside an immersive experience possible. With haptic suits, physiological sensors and custom controllers, businesses and students develop and test new interactions there, with scientifically sound user tests.
