Calendar

Types of event

A fixed, predictable calendar lets you drop in without having to sign up for anything. Six types, with the formats BRIX runs under each one.

Mock-up

Expo & Event

One-day or multi-day activities, themed for a specific audience.

Dutch Design Week

Every October in Eindhoven

During DDW we show what has been made in the labs over the past year. Prototypes, experiments, work that is not finished yet. Visitors help test it and their responses go back to the makers. For IX makers, this is one way to put your work in front of a large and critical audience.

Gamechanger event

For one sector at a time

Every quarter we bring one sector together around one shared question. Port companies on upskilling. Healthcare organisations on training. Municipalities on participation. Not a general inspiration session, but a working session with organisations that run into the same problems as you. This is often the start of a value chain coalition.

Companies, by invitation

Lab tours

Discover what the lab is and what it can do, and meet the people.

Open day

Come and see where it gets made

Every lab in BRIX holds an open day once a year. Then everything is open: the studios, the measurement rooms, the workspaces. Researchers and makers show what they are working on. If you are thinking of working, studying or building here, this is the moment to walk in.

How often
One per lab per year
Who it’s for
Public, students, neighbourhood

Demo days

Discover IX solutions, makers and possibilities.

Demo day

Every month, somewhere different

Once a month we open the doors at one of our labs. You see what makers and researchers are working on right now, you try things out, and you ask the questions a website cannot answer. No programme you have to follow. No sales pitch. Just the shortest route to finding out whether BRIX is right for you.

How often
Monthly, rotating between labs
Who it’s for
Everyone, open registration

Test day

Take part in something that is not finished yet

Makers and researchers need testers. On a test day you try out something that is still in development and pass on what you noticed. It takes an hour of your time, and you influence what the end result looks like.

How often
On request, at the lab where the project runs
Who it’s for
Test groups, public

Field slot

Testing where people already are

Together with Innofest we take a mobile IX lab to festivals and public events. Thousands of visitors, a real setting, not a lab. You get feedback on what people actually did — not on what they said they would do. The number of slots per year is limited and follows the festival calendar.

How often
Seasonal, May to September
Who it’s for
The public, in a real setting

Matchmaking

Sessions around a single theme or audience.

Training days

Knowledge transfer, train-the-trainer, courses.

Other

All other kinds of activities you can attend.

The actual dates are in the calendar. Would you rather talk first? An intake is free and without obligation, and takes an hour.
